Lifecoach: I can't balance when running

I have developed a problem with co-ordination which means that I trip over dips in the pavement when running. I have recently had problems with my eating regime and lost weight (I am 5ft 7in and 6st). While trying to increase my food intake, is there anything I can do? Would exercises with ankle weights encourage better running technique?

Accurate co-ordination, especially when running, requires lots of things to be right: nerve function, muscle strength, joint position sense, balance, vision and the brain?s movement control centre (cerebellum) are all involved.

Loss of co-ordination could be due to any of a large number of possible causes and a long list of these would be of no real help to you. Additionally, you are significantly underweight. The minimum healthy weight for a woman your height is around 9st on standard charts.
